Veins
Which kind of vein diseases are there?
There are varicose veins of varying degrees (saphenous veins, spider veins and reticular veins) or chronic venous insufficiency.
How do venous diseases become noticeable?
In the initial stage, there are no noticeable indications. In advanced stages, there is swelling, edema, skin lesions and itching, heavy legs, pains, ulcers, thrombosis ….
What are the treatment options?
Firstly, it often helps to eliminate the cause of the disorders (obesity, sedentary lifestyle). Treatment can be conservative with compression stockings and drug or surgical/interventional procedures.
Further treatment may be a type of modern operation avoiding the blue leg (hematoma) and pain in most instances, treatment with sclerosing agents, laser or rediofrequency ablation. Notice, there is no treatment available without side effects! The choice of treatment depens largely on the personal wishes of the patient and the type and changes of the veins.
We choose the best methods with regard to the individual circumstances and results.
